Les Schwab Retiree Rehire Program
HOW IT WORKS
2024 Retiree Rehire Program
- Retirees can be rehired through a current staffing agency partner, Mid Oregon Personnel.
- Retirees will be employed by Mid Oregon Personnel as leased workers (they will be W-2 employees of Mid Oregon Personnel, not 1099 contractors). This allows Retirees to stay on the Retiree Health Plan.
- As leased workers, Retirees are covered under Les Schwab’s workers’ compensation.
- Mid Oregon Personnel charges a markup of 18% (carried by store).
- Retiree rehires are exempt from pre-employment background and drug screening.
Hiring a Retiree
Visit the Mid Oregon Personnel - Les Schwab Retiree Rehire Program Page and fill out the "Report A New Retiree" box. Click submit and Mid Oregon Personnel will contact you within one business day to introduce themselves, discuss the onboarding process and answer any questions. The rehired retiree will be sent an electronic new hire packet to complete from a computer.

The retiree leased worker will record their time using Swipeclock (links available on main page, www.midoregonpersonnel.com/lesschwab, with instructions and portal login) and submit their timesheet to their supervisor on the 16th of the month by 9:00am (for hours worked from the 1st - 15th) and on the 1st day of the month by 9:00am (for hours worked from the 16th - last day of the month). Supervisors use their Swipeclock login to view, edit, and approve timecards on the due date.
