Fair Staff Assistant

Full Time Part Time Temporary
|The Staff Assistant is responsible for a variety of accounting, secretarial duties, social media and other projects related to the Jefferson County Fair.|
|This position work under the direct supervision of the Fair Coordinator.|
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
|§ Support Fairgrounds Coordinator in planning and operation of the County Fair.|
§ Monitor, track and organize contracts for vendors.
§ Develop content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to promote the fair.
§ Handle cash using established procedures.
§ Perform clerical tasks, laminating, copying and scanning as assigned.
§ Communication with vendors and patrons of the fair.
§ Assist coordinator, groundskeeper and Fair Board with an assortment of needs and requests.
§ Willing to learn all aspects of the operation of the fair.
§ Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
§ Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
- Knowledge and Skills
|Knowledge of social media marketing. Excellent cash handling and revenue reporting skills. Good communication and listening skills. Good organizing skills.|
|Ability to Ability to deal with difficult customers. Ability to use computer, telephone, copy machine.|
- Physical Abilities
|Ability to work at computer screen for extended periods of time. Ability to sit, walk, talk, or stand for extended periods of time and use rapid finger, hand and arm movement.|
- Education and Experience
|High school diploma or equivalent. Office experience or other business related experience. Experience in the use of Windows environment, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Chrome Web Browser, cell phones and cameras.|
- Licenses and Certificates
|A valid Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.|
- Working Conditions
|Work is performed indoors and outdoors where some safety considerations exist from physical labor and handling of light-to-medium weight, yet, awkward materials.|
