Clubhouse Associate

Summary

  • Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent and the Pro Shop Attendant the duties of the Clubhouse Associate include collecting retail and fee sales, greeting customers (members, daily green fee players, and tournament players), ensuring the Pro Shop and rental equipment are clean and in working order daily, using the computer point of sale system, making tee time reservations for member, non-members, and tournaments.

  • The Clubhouse Associate is knowledgeable in customer service. Must be able to work with the public, various groups, with the ability to coordinate timely work activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Register sales through a point-of-sale register by scanning items, itemizing, and totaling customers’ purchases.
  • Maintains checkout operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Assists golfers/customers with merchandise.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
  • Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers.
  • Balances cash drawer at beginning and end of work shift.
  • Provides pricing information.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment daily by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to safely operate golf carts and range ball picker.
  • Operates a variety of hand and small engine power tools commonly used in pro shop and driving range operation and maintenance including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, range ball retrieving equipment and golf ball dispenser, generators, air compressors, and backpack blowers.
  • Assists in the maintenance of landscaping around the pro shop, and general maintenance and upkeep of the pro shop. This work is performed in a manner that avoids, where possible, disruption in the use of the golf course facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
  • Employees may be required to work evenings, weekends, and Holiday’s.

 

 

Physical Abilities

  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. Requires the ability to stand, walk, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis. Pushing, pulling, guiding over 40 pounds on an occasional basis. Stoops, kneels, and crouches on a regular basis. Requires the ability to perform full arm extension and movement out, and overhead, and to talk and read. Requires sufficient hand eye coordination, hand and finger dexterity including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to operate equipment, and read technical and safety information.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills including point-of-sale preferred

 

Licenses and Certificates:

  • Requires a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 or older.
  • Must valid alcohol server’s permit certification or be able to obtain a valid alcohol server’s permit certification prior to hiring.
